I'm trying a drastic change in the science file to see if I can make any impact on the energy consumption. Right now the power remaining should get us to end of July, and this may work well for the timing of a MOOMZ cruise, but if the cruise gets delayed further having sg157 last as long as possible will be a priority. Here's the new science:

Kipp, I am assuming that the last 1 (in the 1111 sequence) corresponds to the PAR sensor and that the second to the last corresponds to the fluorometer/scatterometer). Hence we are turning off the PAR sensor below 150m and the remaining optics below 600. This is not different than the previous sampling scheme above 600m.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I would suggest we do is to use the data collected to date to estimate how much information would be lost below 250m if we were to sample at one 1/3 or 1/2 the present frequency.
